HEARTBEAT DRAWING PROJECT

Ever since 1995, SASAKI has been obsessively continuing to produce HEARTBEAT DRAWING, in which he records the heartbeats. Today the 5million-strong community shares the heartbeat which is now 20 million and counting. To be shared the drawings by people and in spaces is also the artwork for the HEARTBEAT DRAWING project.  (Drawing his originally created pen or air-brush in red ink and other materials, he solely devotes to inscribe and record the heartbeat. Individual drawing as a fragment of his entire activity shows the fine lines of the red ink forming a dense sort of net that support a figure, suggesting the unlimited expanse of life.)
"Beat of the Heart" - the fundamental on which life in this world is given continuity, the essence of "living" as we all recognize. It is the proof of the living in the 'now' and the bond "shared" by all forms of life. "Sharing-owning" of the Drawing is about participating in this ever expansive project where one shares with others "life" as a continuous element. HEARTBEAT DRAWING project is progressing with the heartbeats of human beings in the world.
